The Basics
Even people who've worked in the nightclub industry for years sometimes turn around and ask "Does that really work in a club?" The resounding answer is "YES!" However you've got to pick the right night with the right crowd (generally student nights or more 'party'-style nights work best)...of course it's also the perfect accompaniment to a Foam Party (See their listings
here). Once people are wet from the foam we generally get loads of people wanting to be dunked, and it's a great focal attraction on any night!
This dunktank is large and imposing, making it a superb focal point for large venues. Also we contain nearly all the water in our custom-made groundsheet so there's very little mess (see
Detailed Information below...)Also:
- We've done hundreds of dunktank nights at venues all over the country - we're good at getting volunteers and making sure participants (and those who are just watching) are having a great time!
- We don't do hundreds of events a year - this means we're fresh and raring to go for each one, ready to make your event as special and
spectacular as we all want it to be
- Our interactive events are filmed to sell back to the participants via Gunjee TV. This means you'll get loads of good feedback about your venue and your night via social media!
2.
Key Information
- One piece American-style dunktank - large, tall, holds a lot of water but needs suitable doorways to get it inside a venue...please ask us for dimensions!
- Holds around 2400 litres of water, and since we get quite wet too we'll generally bring 500 litres of hot water in the van to make sure it's not 'ice-cold'!
- Staff are trained to get volunteers using tried and trusted techniques to mean the entertainment runs all night
- We clean up all our mess (and any water that does escape our area) quickly and efficiently, meaning your venue stays mostly dry!
- Full £5million Public Liabilities Insurance
- Comprehensive Risk Asessment procedures in place
- For repeat/regular clients, venue and date specific trailer videos are available for use on Facebook and other websites (see here for an example!)

Detailed Information
We'll describe the set-up from the ground up. First we lay down our custom-made groundsheet (100% watertight, approx 4m x 3m with raised edges to hold anything that spills our of the dunktank itself). This is lined internally with rubber-matting, and matting is also used to protect any slippery areas immediately outside this too.
Then we build/place the Dunk Tank inside this. It comes in two main pieces (the bowl and the seating tower, so assembly is quite quick, but it does need suitable access to get it in and out of venues. Please email us in advance and we will explain dimensions and access requirements. It's also not suitable for going up or down stairs (but will go in a cargo lift...)
It is filled with a combination of water from your venue and the hot-water we usually bring with us (depends on venue location and layout, as we can't always pump it in from the van...) - either way we'll need to attach two or three hoses, so we'll bring an array of attachments to suit the connections available in most venues. You can expect us to rummage around in your bar/wash areas and indeed cupboards and staff-areas to find the most suitable supplies close to our location. We also treat the water to help prevent any contamination. Some other UK nightclub dunktank operators are proud that they don't treat their water....but what if the first person in the tank has a communicable disease??? We've been doing these events for ages and we know what we're doing!
Once it's set up and ready to go all the hoses disappear and we wait for your venue to fill up! People will normally be quite interested in what it is and what it does, and we'll answer questions until there's a bit of a crowd in the venue, liase with the DJ to make a 'show' of the first couple of dunkings, grab our first volunteer and away we go!
Since we light the area to video it, everyone in the venue can clearly see what's going on, and it's great fun to watch! For Health & Safety we will obviously not allow anyone who is drunk or aggressive into the tank, and although people often ask if they can strip off completely, we don't allow this as it would generally break the terms of your venue's license. We'll also bring some towels - sometimes we have enough, sometimes not, but (to be honest) it doesn't seem to bother a lot of dunkees either way!
Finally we get to the end of the night. Using a powerfull submersible pump and large diameter hose we'll drain the dunktank, vacuum up any excess water and (on a good night) be out of your venue, leaving it clean and dry, within 90 minutes normally!

5.
Gunjee Media Policy
Please have a read - you can see it by clicking the link below. The fact we video at most of our events has two major benefits to you as a
venue/promoter:
- We can generate trailer videos for use on websites/facebook groups and suitable for screens in your venue (on nights leading up to our
event) which promote the specific event on the specific night - see here for an
example! This is free for repeat clients - there is a small fee for new venues the first time.
- You'll get response and feedback from our interactive events (the Dunk Tank, Gunge Tank, Hot Tub, etc) when the event goes live in Gunjee TV and we then announce it on your Facebook wall, through our twitter
account (@Gunjee_dot_com) and on our Youtube page
6.
Timings (before and after you're open)
We normally require around 90 minutes before opening to set-up and fill the Dunk Tank. Please
let us know
in advance what time we can get into the venue, what time we need to be set-up by. Most important though is how we can gain access when we get there (doorbells,
phone numbers, etc) - we can't begin to count the number of nightclubs we've been stood outside trying to attract the attention of someone
inside!
At the end of the night we'll drain the dunktank as quickly as possible, vacuum up any excess water and (on a good night) be out of your venue, leaving it clean and dry, within 60 minutes (and nearly always within 90 mins!)
7.
Space and other requirements
The Dunk Tank requires and area at least 4m x 3m that is flat and level (if you have a location in mind but it's more square, we do have different groundsheets, but please ask in advance). The dunktank requires a 13amp socket (at least 3m away from it for safety) during operation and we will also need a 13amp socket at the end of the night to power the pump and the vacuum. There is also a height requirement of 4.5m, to allow people to safely climb on and climb out.
To fill the Dunk Tank we'll require two or more water-sources and we'll bring an array
of attachments to suit the connections available in most venues. However we definitely do need water and so you can expect us to rummage
around in your bar/wash areas and indeed cupboards and staff-areas to find the most suitable supplies.
We have
£5million FULL Public Liabilities Insurance and can provide all our paperwork in advance, including general risk assessments
for our equipment, specific risk assessments for our equipment in your venue, COSHH data sheets and disclaimer notices. All our equipment is
regularly mantained, including short tests in situ before each event. Our staff are fully trained in all aspects of Health and Safety to make
sure us, you and your guests are as safe as possible during installation, during operation and during removal of our equipment. We constantly
monitor safety during our events and will not allow anything that could cause accident or injury to our staff, your staff or your guests. Our
operators have up to
10 years of experience, with Health and Safety being the most important part of their training. As such we have an
impeccable safety record, and we have no hesitation pausing or stopping events if the need arises. For all our
interactive events like the Dunk Tank we
brief all volunteers in advance on the rules, as well as havinge trained staff to maintain control at all times.
The one thing we
do require is that there is a member of club security staff at (or very near to) our location(s) at all times throughout the night.
8. Let us help you promote the event!
We're not promoters but we are good with video and we have had flyers for our events produced in the past (there's an example flyer at
the bottom of this page). If you'd like to use it, or any media from our site to
promote your party, just ask us about licensing our media! But you i) have to ask first and have to ii) agree to the
site terms & conditions and
the
Gunjee Media Policy
